Stippling is the creation of a pattern simulating varying degrees of solidity or shading by using small dots. Such a pattern may occur in nature and these effects are frequently emulated by artists.

I had never heard of stippling until I stumbled across Julia Koceva’s Instagram account.
Watching her create images using thousands of carefully placed dots over hours of work is mesmerizing!
I’m in awe of her nuanced understanding of light and shadows and how she interprets that in her art is pure magic.
